Skillet Apple Pancake

I love making this skillet apple pancake. I use a fabulous Chai spice infused caramel sauce which is to die for.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

You start with a large skillet. Melt butter and pour evenly into skillet. Make sure to wipe/ brush some butter along the sides of the skillet. Wash and cut apples into slices. Slices should be medium to small in width. Arrange apple slices in a single layer along the bottom of the skillet. Sprinkle apples with cinnamon and nutmeg.

In large bowl mix together flour, baking powder, salt, milk, eggs, and sugar. Make sure mixture is smooth. Slowly pour mixture over the apples. Sprinkle more cinnamon and nutmeg across mixture. Spoon chai infused caramel in scattered spots. You can substitute for regular caramel if desired. The below Chai Infused Caramel by Dulce can be found on hatchery.com.

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Pancake should be golden brown and edges appear puffy.  Warm some caramel and drizzle along pancake. After plating, drizzle with Agave Maple syrup (or regular syrup).
